Columbus Regional Health kicked off the completion of the hospital’s new Emergency Department with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, May 17, 2016. The expanded center is set to officially open and begin serving patients on May 25.

Jack Banks is pretty familiar with what goes on inside the walls of Columbus Regional Hospital. He's been working here for 16 years in the CRH facilities department. In October of 2013, Jack discovered first hand what it meant to be a patient at Columbus Regional Hospital after a sudden life threatening cardiovascular incident occurred.

Now that spring and summer are upon us, the incidence of insect bites and stings, as well as animal bites is on the rise. Most of these bites can be managed at home with some basic first aid. Some, though, may have a life-threatening allergic reaction to an insect bite.

Over the last 10 years hearing aid technology has greatly advanced in reference to providing better and more comfortable speech understanding in quiet environments, at a distance, and in the presence of background noise.
