About Us

The Hospitalist’s Role in Your Care

A Hospitalist is a physician who specializes in your care during your stay in the hospital. The Hospitalist Team manages every aspect of your care, including treatments, specialists and other departments in the hospital.

Hospitalists provide 24-hour coverage from the moment you are admitted. While supervising your treatment, a Hospitalist will stay in close touch with you, your family and your primary care physician. Our Hospitalists are board certified, and the Hospitalist Program is another benefit to ensure you receive the high quality care you deserve during your stay.

After Discharge

When you are discharged, a Hospitalist will contact your primary care physician with a comprehensive report, and a written copy will be added to your records. Your primary physician will then continue the management of your care.

Benefits of Hospitalists

• Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from the moment you are admitted until you are discharged.
• Available for emergencies and treatment concerns.
• Can see you more than once a day, if necessary.
• Knows hospital resources very well.
• Can quickly assess test results and respond with treatment changes.
• Always nearby to answer questions from you or your family.
• Frees your primary physician to concentrate on patients who come for office visits.

How the Hospitalist Program Works

The Hospitalist Program is a continuation of your primary physician’s care. CRH has agreements with many physicians in Columbus and beyond to care for patients admitted to the hospital.

Once you are admitted to the hospital, your primary physician reviews your case with a Hospitalist and provides any necessary records. While you are in the hospital, the Hospitalist Team manages your care and consults with your primary physician as needed. When you are discharged, a Hospitalist provides a detailed report, and follows up with a written report to be kept as part of your comprehensive healthcare file. Your primary physician will then continue your treatment.

Contacting Your Hospitalist

The best way to contact your Hospitalist about concerns or treatment is through your nurse, who will contact the CRH Hospitalist Team.

Payment is expected upon receipt of the first monthly statement. We accept cash, check, VISA and Mastercard. We are contractually bound with the insurance companies to collect this at the time of service. We will then file your insurance claim. However, payment for the account remains your responsibility. If you have insurance that we are not contracted with, you will be asked to make full payment, and file your own insurance claim. Please maintain your account with our office in good standing. Should your account become delinquent, your account may be turned over to an outside collection agency.

Your medical records are strictly confidential. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) restricts us from releasing any information without your written permission.

There may be times when you request that we provide copies of our records to you or other entities. You will be billed for this service.
