At Columbus Regional Health Breast Surgery we realize how much anxiety a breast cancer diagnosis can cause.
Carlos Vieira, MD, FACS, is the only fellowship-trained breast surgeon in southeastern Indiana and specializes in the most up-to-date care and treatment of breast diseases. Dr. Vieira treats all breast issues, and in addition our practice has a high risk breast clinic for patients that have a family history of breast cancer, abnormal mammograms or high breast density.
Dr. Vieira is passionate about helping women find the best outcomes and he believes in promoting research initiatives and innovation to improve women’s health in the fight against breast cancer.
He believes in empowering patients by providing them with organized, pertinent information through consultation discussions, email access, worksheets, web links and videos. His hope is that patients will feel comfortable asking any and all questions and feel free to record consultations for later review. As a surgeon, he strives to not only perform the best cancer operation possible but also to assure the best cosmetic result.
After practicing general surgery and breast surgery for 15 years on the south side of Indianapolis, Dr. Vieira completed his fellowship training at Northwestern University in Chicago. We are excited to welcome him to the Columbus Regional Health network.
Dr. Vieira works closely with our certified mammography and ultrasound technologists, nurse navigators, board-certified radiologists, and our medical and radiation oncologists to provide comprehensive breast care services.
