The Power of MyChart

At Columbus Regional Health, we strive to innovate and identify solutions that provide our patients with a connected, seamless healthcare experience. That is why we offer a unified medical record platform for our system.

Epic, featuring MyChart, is a software program that houses electronic medical records that can be easily coordinated among a patient’s healthcare providers. That means one medical record with the most up-to-date health information, completely privatized and secured for each individual patient. This system significantly reduces the risk of duplicate records and outdated health information as patients move through their healthcare services journey.

Even better for patients is the MyChart applicationMyChart application, which is an intuitive platform patients can use to access their medical record, keep track of healthcare services and appointments, schedule appointments, view test results and office visit provider notes, and even communicate with their physician. MyChart is available via the Internet, and as a smartphone application.

Although patient medical records will automatically be housed on the new Epic platform, each patient must sign up to use the MyChart application.

Your primary or specialty care provider within Columbus Regional Health Physicians will be happy to help you sign up for MyChart next time you’re in the office.

Hello World

Hello World is Epic’s communication platform that provides a user-friendly, convenient way for patients to receive information related to their care and services at Columbus Regional Health. The SMS/text function connects CRH with our patients using their preferred communication methods. It helps patients get the information they need to make good decisions about their healthcare, and it gives patients a better experience with actions like confirming appointments or paying bills. This platform replaces current text and SMS communications, and patients must opt-in to Hello World in order to receive or continue receiving information and communication from CRH.

Pre-Visit Update

Pre-Visit Update is now available to all patients, including those who do not have a MyChart account. Pre-Update allows patients to complete many of the visit check-in steps prior to arriving for their appointment. Patients can verify their personal information, insurance coverage, allergies, health issues, medications, pharmacy preferences, health history, and sign any e-signature consent forms.

"Hello Patient" Auto-Arrival Check In

MyChart's Hello Patient feature leverages geolocation capabilities on iOS and Android devices to detect when a patient arrives for an appointment.

If the patient has completed all check in tasks ahead of time, the patient can be automatically checked in without even needing to visit the front desk.

If the patient does have outstanding check in tasks, he or she can be automatically signed in and then prompted to complete eCheck-in.

Paperless billing

Patients with a MyChart account (or guarantor with a MyChart account) can sign up for paperless billing and receive statements and other billing notifications and letters electronically. Sign up is simple, and can be completed by locating the paperless billing notification on the welcome page or billing summary section in MyChart. Paperless billing allows patients to have immediate access to their statements once they are released.

Fast Pass

Columbus Regional Health launched a feature in MyChart called Fast Pass. Patients with an upcoming office appointment will be notified if an earlier appointment becomes available. Within the first month of launching this feature, patients utilizing it have been able to see their provider an average of 20 days sooner!
