Hospital Expands Visitor Options

In recent weeks, our area has experienced a steady decline in viral respiratory rates and hospitalizations. Therefore, in the best interest of our workforce and the patients we serve, Columbus Regional Health is pleased to downgrade its current visitation options on the hospital campus.

Effective April 14, 2025, the visitation restrictions that were implemented in response to respiratory viral season are lifted. Visitors age 14 and up are welcome, at the discretion of the patient’s care team and any capacity restraints within the inpatient care setting.

The following visitation amendments remain applicable in order to provide the safest, healing environment:

  • Suggested visitation hours remain unchanged.
  • Amendments may be made in extenuating circumstances and are at the discretion of unit leadership.
  • Visitors may be asked to adhere to all isolation precautions by donning masks and/or additional personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed and determined necessary by the patient care team.
  • Visitors experiencing symptoms of potentially contagious illness are discouraged from visiting.

In addition, alternative visitor options remain in place for Birthing Center and Women and Children’s:

  • Laboring patients may have 3 designated support persons.
  • No one under the age of 14 years old will be allowed on the Birthing Center, with the exception of siblings of the newborn.
  • Visitation hours remain 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; no visitation allowed during Maternal Rest Time (2 to 4 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.).
