Update: Bartholomew County Flooding Response

The waters of Haw Creek have receded, and the flood warning and risk associated with that stream has been lifted. Columbus Regional Health continues to be open and operating under normal circumstances. All inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services continue as normal. The two floodwall sections that were raised temporarily out of precaution have been lowered, and all entrances are open and accessible.

However, heavy flooding and road closures are affecting the west side of Bartholomew County. To ensure continued access to the hospital from the west side, we have developed the following suggested safe access route:

From west side of Bartholomew County, Nashville, etc.

  • Turn right onto Goeller Boulevard
  • Turn left on to Terrace Lake Rd. near Fire Station 5
  • Take Terrace Lake Road to 200S and take a right
  • Turn Left onto 400W
  • Turn Left onto 450 South
  • Drive to I65 and go northbound to Exit 76A
  • Drive US31 Southbound into Columbus

Please note this route adds approximately 35 minutes of travel time, so plan accordingly. Please share this information with any individuals and who may require access to the hospital. At this time, it does not appear the flood has impacted travel from the east, north, or south. Below are maps associated with the route above:

As a reminder, please use caution when travelling. Water levels and currents are difficult to determine from visual inspection. Never attempt to cross flooded roadways. Thank you and stay safe!
