The Columbus Regional Health Multidisciplinary Breast Health Program is comprised of physicians and medical professionals in radiology, pathology, medical oncology, surgery, nursing, pharmacy, social services, and more meeting each week to discuss patients' unique journey and best course of treatment and therapy.

A breast cancer diagnosis can be frightening, but the Multidisciplinary Breast Program at CRH means a team of support to guide you with compassion the entire way. Through the program, patients get faster test results, access to physician appointments, and information quicker for them and their loved ones.

In addition, this program provides a comprehensive guide and personal navigator to help along the way and so much more. The Columbus Regional Health Multidisciplinary Breast Health Program—exemplary breast health services, close to the comforts of home.

How it works
By bringing all the specialties together we’re able to coordinate and customize each patient’s treatment. For example, is a patient a candidate for surgery? Will they require chemotherapy or radiation, or are hormone therapy or immunotherapy medications appropriate? All of these options are discussed by the Multidisciplinary Team up front at the time of diagnosis.

Directly after the meeting, the specialists meet with their patients in a series of consultations, all on the same day. Afterward, a Breast Care Nurse Navigator answers any remaining questions the patients may have and sets up following appointments and services. Every patient leaves with a binder of information and clear understanding of their treatment plan.
