Arshad Husain, MD

Dr. Husain is a board-certified hematologist and oncologist starting his practice with Columbus Regional Hospital in September 2024. He is a medical graduate from Mumbai University, Mumbai, India. He completed residency training in internal medicine from Queens Hospital, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in NY in 1999, followed by a year of work at NIH, Maryland. He completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology from the University of Tennessee Memphis in 2008 and has been in practice since. He has been involved in clinical research, as well as clinical trials and has several publications to his credit.

Managing cancer related problems has been his passion throughout his medical career. He finds helping patients with blood and cancer related problems not only challenging, but also very gratifying professionally due to the complexity involved. With rapid new developments occurring in the field, he says this is very exciting time to be practicing this specialty. His approach to patient care combines empathy, utilization of latest diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, and collaboration. His focus will be patient-centered care with a personal touch, utilizing the latest advancements provided locally to improve patient outcomes. He regularly attends medical conferences and conducts tumor boards.

He likes to visit places with natural beauty, plays badminton, and likes to socialize in his spare time.
