What drew you to choose Columbus Regional Health to practice medicine?

I wanted to expand from where I was in Michigan. I practiced for two years out of residency and just was not where I wanted to be career-wise and needed to move somewhere with more opportunities. This area reminds me of where I grew up in the northern suburbs of the Detroit metro area. The people are the same. Everyone has been very welcoming in the community, and I want to be part of the growing community and contribute to all there is here. My wife and I are looking to start a family and raise them here in Columbus. We both feel very fortunate and blessed to be here.

What areas of interest within your medical specialty do you have?

Anything and everything foot and ankle-related. Wound care is something I love. It can be frustrating and challenging at times. But, seeing a wound heal and the impact that has, along with lifestyle changes to prevent the wounds from returning, is very rewarding to improve someone's quality of life. The same goes for helping to heal any other foot or ankle complaint, whether it is a bunion or hammertoe, or a sprained ankle, or a broken bone. I love being able to explain what is going on and present the options for treatment and tailor each treatment plan specific to every patient to maximize positive results.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I play video games with friends and family or by myself. I go to the gym or work out at home. I love watching movies and working on home projects with my wife. Other things I enjoy doing are going on vacations, traveling abroad, and going to church.

Anything else you would like to share about your story (birth place, family, special moments in life, professional awards or research / publications you have authored)?

I was born in Clinton Township, Michigan, the youngest of three kids. My dad is an electrician, and my mom worked in the school cafeteria. No one in my family was in the medical field, except for my grandpa's half-sister's husband and two of his kids, whom I would only see once every five years or so. This has been a journey of figuring it out on my own and trying to be the best I can be.
