Kelly Darnall has worked in the Laboratory Department since starting at CRH 35 years ago. Throughout her career, she has seen many changes in the department, including vast technological improvements that allow for wider test menus, greater efficiencies and accuracy, improved turnaround times, walk-away instruments, auto-verification of test results, and automation line to assist in getting the tubes to the correct instrument.
Kelly started her career at CRH as a Medical Technologist. She is currently Lab Client Services Coordinator. She works with CRHP and non-CRHP medical offices, nursing homes, and a few other outside customers of the Lab. "I really enjoy reaching out to these customers and have developed relationships with those that work at these outside entities," Kelly noted. She also has great relationships with the team she works with in the Lab. "We have a great group of staff in client services and in our courier group," Kelly said.
Kelly gives to the
Foundation because of the great work they do for the hospital, and the many areas they support to help make CRH a great place to work and provide healthcare services. "I started to donate when the Foundation began the campaign quite some time ago. It gives me great pride to be able to do this every year. The staff at the Foundation are so great, and they do such wonderful work with the contributions yearly," she said. One benefit of donating to the Foundation is you can see the donation's direct impact where you work. "There are 29 different funds that can be selected from, and it is so easy to set it up as payroll deduction," Kelly said. Her donation supports the Lab through the Nancy Weinberg Fund for Laboratory Advancement. Nancy Weinberg was a previous manager of the Lab. "She was such a great leader for the Lab for so many years," said Kelly.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys cooking/baking, quilting, knitting, reading, and traveling with her husband in their fifth-wheel camper. A few of her favorite places to visit are Gatlinburg Tennessee, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and Amish communities in Indiana and Ohio.
