The Cost of Obesity is Expensive
What patients need to know about the affordability of weight loss surgery.
The following information is for patients who do not have insurance, for patients who have insurance but the surgical treatment of morbid obesity is excluded, and for patients who may be under-insured requiring a large out-of-pocket expense. This opportunity allows a patient to pay one set price to the participating providers with one year of post-op complication coverage.
Patient Process:
Attend a free information session at the Weight Loss Institute.
Receive information about private funding opportunities & relationships within the community Submit a program entry fee of $500.
Provide five years of medical records and a complete health history to the Weight Loss Institute.
Schedule a consultation, followed by dietary and psychiatric evaluations
If any care providers decide you are not a suitable surgery candidate, a partial refund may be given.
During the consultation, you and the patient advocate will review the estimated cost for your procedure.
Your estimate may vary based on your surgeon’s recommendation.
Your estimate will include 12 months of Bundled Loan & Indemnity Solutions (BLIS) complication coverage with the option to add 6-18 months of additional protection.
Prior to surgery scheduling, you must secure private funding and pay for your procedure in full.
You will be given a Bariatric Self-Pay card upon payment to present when registering for services covered in your package.
Exceptions:
As with any surgical procedure, you may experience additional fees based on medical necessity, these fees will be billed in addition to the original estimate.
BLIS Coverage is not available for revision patients.
